Green Cross United Kingdom

We are proud to be the UK’s institutional member of Green Cross International, founded in 1993 by former President of the Soviet Union and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Mikhail Gorbachev.

Our global mandate is rooted in the conviction that environmental security is the indispensable cornerstone of lasting peace and stability—a principle established following the historic Rio Earth Summit. Today, we carry forward this vision, working to translate its high-level diplomatic legacy into tangible, systemic change.

Co-founded in 2020 by Ruy Campos Dugone in direct response to Mikhail Gorbachev’s enduring call to action, Green Cross United Kingdom advances this mission on the ground. As a signatory to the UN Global Compact and a member of the UK Climate Change Coalition, we operate across Commonwealth nations and Latin America.

We integrate a global network of specialists, verifiers, and technology partners to deliver independent, scientifically rigorous sustainability solutions for measurable impact.
